Safe to say that even if two was sufficient, four (or more) might have helped. I have not read the paper in detail, but there are at least a couple of instances where it reads something like "(pick a performance-enhancing z/VM tuning option or zSeries hardware feature) could have been set, but the Project Team did not do this". With no justification as to why the setting/option/feature was not tuned/enhanced/used. Or the explanation of how MDC was configured: something like 4GB of cache in expanded storage, and NONE in central. The pointy-haireds would be told "see, even four *GIG* of disk cache didn't help"... Again, no explanation or justification. Cheers, Vic Cross
