Rick, I don't know what you're doing wrong (using --dry-run perhaps?), but when I applied the patches that were intended for 2.4.23 against 2.4.24, I got no such errors. When I apply the 2.4.21 patches, I get no messages at all.

Tried to attach the logs of those sessions, but that blew past the posting size limit. (Hats off to Harry for keeping clutter off the list.) Never the less, I get a few "hunk such-and-such failed" on both. Not surprisingly, I get *many* more on 2.4.24 than on 2.4.21 for which the patches are assumed to fit directly. The 2.4.24 log is like three times as large because of the many more errors. And this is just the patching. I don't know if either of these IPL. I'm building them based on a config from 2.4.19 that I've been running for months ... rock solid. -- R;
