I believe Rick has stated that the kernel module part of cmsfs is broken in
2.4, and shouldn't be used at this time. To use the cmsfsxxx commands, it's
not needed. But, from looking at the Makefile, it appears that cmsfsvfs.c
is what makes up the kernel module, so you can put it in there.

Subject: cmsfs in SuSE SLES8 SP3 tainted

I've had Rick Troth's cmsfs in SuSE SLES8 (2.4.19 kernel) for some time now.
I've just recently upgraded to SLES8-SP3 with the 2.4.21 kernel.

I took the cmsfs-1.1.8 code and did

make clean
./configure
make
make install

to build it for the new kernel.

When I "insmod cmsfs" I get

"Warning: loading /lib/modules/2.4.21-83-default/kernel/fs/cmsfs.o will
taint the
 kernel: no license
See http://www.tux.org/lkml/#export-tainted for information about tainted
modu les Module cmsfs loaded, with warnings"

a "modinfo cmsfs" shows

"filename: /lib/modules/2.4.21-83-default/kernel/fs/cmsfs.o
description: "CMS Minidisk Filesystem Support"
author: "Rick Troth <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>"
license: <none>"

It looks like some file is missing the line MODULE_LICENSE("GPL"); Anyone
have any suggestions where I might add it? Rick? any comments?
