No.  The right way to get the flashcopy is to halt them (with SIGNAL
SHUTDOWN, for instance) and then get the copy.

If you don't mind living dangerously, you could define them with ext3
filesystems, and just flashcopy them.    Your journal files will be
inconsistent, so you might lose the last few writes, but I think you'd
be much less likely to seriously corrupt the FS.
