Ranga,
Forgot to add the fact that you need to change the VM Directory also to
show that
the guest minidisks are on newly labeled packs. We do that here in the
systems center when we
want to create another VM system for testing. Works fine but remember we
are running some
pretty vanilla systems.

Re-IPL from backups
I have snapped the RES, WRK and SPL volumes to another set of volumes. Now
I want to make sure that I can IPL from the backup volumes.
My thinking is:
Shutdown z/VM and the guests
Re-name volids for existing 510RES, WRK and SPL to something else.
Re-name volids of the backups to correspond to 510RES etc.
IPL from the new 510RES with appropriate address.
Will this work? Are there any gotchas?
