What we did was the following:
1) under zOS, I/O Gen defined 0x210 and CHID 0A to SuSE LPAR
2) Using the ICC Interface, we defined the address 210 and LuName HOST8C1.
(this is working via the OSA card)
3) The ICC Master Console showed all of the details correct (same as it
does for zOS)
4) Re-booted SuSE LPAR
5) Checked /sys/bus/ccw/drivers/3270 and there was nothing there.
6) The Master Console was still showing its information.
I realized I got something more complicated than a simple 3270 device
attached to a 2074.
Is there any method for me to check if address x210 is there?
normally under zOS, VTAM would be told about LU HOST8C1, do I need to do
something similar somewhere under zLinux?

Most likely because you don't have any 3270 devices attached to the
system. Try doing that and rebooting. I would not be at all surprised
if it Just Works.

Mark:
Unfortunately, /sys/bus/ccw/drivers/3270 is a directory with no files in
it. Found /dev/3270 has ttycons, tub and tubcons (as in my previous
note). I checked modprobe.conf and modprobe.conf.local for the existence
of any 3270 or major-227 keyword to no avail. I can't find
/usr/src/linux..../Documentation (I did a "find /usr/src -name
Documentation). I am sure I am not qualified to tackle this problem.
Mind you, I do like the idea.
