I decided to try NED (for that 3270 capable editor), and must be missing something...
I installed it, without visible errors, on my SLES9 system yet even after rebooting I get: leesles9:~ # ned ned is supported only on 3270 terminals leesles9:~ # who root ttyS0 Jun 17 14:31 This is logged on to the console as the VM userid that Linux is running under. Looking through the man pages and finding the -T option, I tried: leesles9:~ # ned -T /dev/3270/tub0009 ned is supported only on 3270 terminals The same is true for /dev/3270/tub, /dev/3270/tubcons, and /dev/3270/ttycons (everything that's in my /dev/3270 directory). A #CP Q V CONS shows my virtual console as device 009 and type 3215. I thought maybe I had to have IPLed Linux with my console defined as a 3270, but it seems Linux sets it back to a 3215 at IPL time... Thoughts or suggestions?
