Is there anything special to make the SuSE 9 work? I don't see why that would not work. Have'nt tried though. In case you're running on z/VM, consider using DCSS with xip2 filesystem instead of shared dasd. Major advantages are improved performance and reduced memory consumption, major disadvantage is that your shared filesystem may not be larger than 1.9 gig or so. >and does it work if the shared OS dasd is an LVM? LVM works pretty much different from old 2.4.x. days now. It is now based on a common infrastructure called "device mapper". All userspace tools (pvcreate, lvcreate ... and such) work same as before. with kind regards Carsten Otte IBM Linux Technology Center / Boeblingen lab -- omnis enim res, quae dando non deficit, dum habetur et non datur, nondum habetur, quomodo habenda est ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
