I've used reiserfs for a while on production intel boxes and I've found the same things to be true, ext3 (and 2) do offer better last resort file system recovery, but at that point it would be easier to recover from backup anyway so that doesn't worry me to much. Is there anything about the s390 architecture that would be a bad match for reiserfs?
