You do not need a workgroup defined, but there are some extra steps with domains, depending on what variation of Windows domain you have running. If you have NT-style domains, or you are running AD in mixed-mode (DCs respond to both NTLM and AD), then as long as the workstation and server are members of the same NTLM domain, you can use Samba 2 or 3 and it'll work (configure the Samba server as a domain member as described in the docs). If you have AD-style domains, then you'll need a minimum of Samba v3, and you'll need to read the section in the Samba manual about integrating the Samba server into a AD environment. There are some restrictions, but it works essentially OK. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
