SA for z/OS does exactly what you want. From a z/OS SA focal point
NetView running Proc Ops you can automate any number of zLinux LPARs (or
VM zLinux guests) and automate the IPL, respond to messages, start,
monitor and restart tasks, shutdown... basically whatever you want to
automate within that zLinux.

If one of my customers need to remotely ipl linux in an LPAR without
z/VM (definetly not my recommendation) wht products are available to
them? I suggeted a remote HMC console connection but wanted to give
them other options if available, all vendor names will be passed over to
them.
