I was really glad to see this number. It was the same number (list price) that Adam Thornton and I came up with, but we hadn't seen any independent confirmation of that. I needed it to prepare a comparison for a new client I was working with. They were going to be installing over 50 Intel Linux boxes, all with at least two processors, some with 4 or 8, and many (many!) of them were going to be running Oracle and some Oracle applications. Ouch!
