Anything that lets you easily configure a smarthost.

Which isn't sendmail.

I very much like Exim these days.  Postfix is easier to configure
from scratch, though, and would probably fit your needs a little better.

Qmail is easier to configure than sendmail, but its author, in
addition to being a perennial contestant in the "world's most
abrasive human being" contest, pretty much requires you to swallow
his entire software philosophy in order to use his software.  So I
disrecommend it too.
