I tried tcp and got mount: RPC: Program not registered
Any ideas what that is?

About the ip, well yeah. But silly security department has decided IP
address are confidential... We can't even put them on unprotected
internal webpages. Sigh...

Turn read and write size up to at least 32K. That will help a lot.
And make sure you're doing the TCP flavor of NFS rather than the UDP
(version 3 could be either); that also generally helps.

Also, there's no real point in obfuscating your network address there,
since it's in 10/8, which is RFC1918 space, so it's not publically
routed anyway, so none of us could reach it unless we were also on your
network to start with.
