Check /var/log/messages from the period before your reboot. Are there
any peculiar messages there?

Hi all,

I just recently started having a problem with one of my Linux images
running on VM 5.2.

Every so often the image will lose its connection both through the
network and from VM. All I get when logging on to the guest through VM
is LOGON LNXTEST at the top of the screen (LNXTEST is the name of the
image). After a random amount of time the image will reconnect and this
is what I get:

LOGON LNXTEST
z/VM Version 5 Release 2.0, Service Level 0601 (64-bit),
built on IBM Virtualization Technology
There is no logmsg data
FILES: NO RDR, NO PRT, NO PUN
RECONNECTED AT 07:19:11 EDT FRIDAY 09/22/06

This started happening after I ran a very CPU intensive job to load data
into the database.

I have shutdown Linux and logged the image off and it still happens when
I come back up.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
