Thanks for the info. Do the large oracle databses really use a lot of the swap? So far we have only the 1 oracle 10g server. The POC is not fully under way as they are waiting for a real server to arrive for part of the application. Although the application is not DEV the database data is not critical. They are considering Clariion to save costs. I am not sure it is a wise decision. But we may have to see if SuSE on zseries supports Clariion okay.

The 1 GByte SWAP is defined via zVM to be v-Disk. The other 5 GB (by the way, I am rounding) are assigned to EMC/SYM. I would not put my swap on Clariion, we use Clariion only for DEV. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390 ************************************************************************* This communication, including attachments, is for the exclusive use of addressee and may contain proprietary, confidential and/or privileged information.
