Hello List,
for (1) a recommended alternative is to use the z/VM SCIF to provide
Console access to z/OS from z/VM. It is thus possible to issue a z/OS
command to shutdown the sysplex from z/VM.

Hello List,
some of you may recall my posting a couple of months back asking if
anyone was running a z/OS SYPLEX and Linux under the same z/VM.
Well I can now say that is just what I have running, thanks for
everyone's input.

New questions now arise.......

1) Linux supports the z/VM SIGNAL SHUTDOWN for a simple orderly
shutdown of z/VM and its Linux Guests. What does one do for z/OS?
2) Linux supports OSA Network layer 2, but I'm not sure yet if its
possible or if it is what the TRLE options are for z/OS?

Thanks
Mark
