As much as I don't like saying it, we have some LARGE x86 "enterprise"
servers here. I think that they are 64 bit Xeon. I cannot say how their
RAS compares to a zSeries box, but I can say that in the years that
we've had them, we have never had a system failure due to the server
hardware. Let's not talk about reboots due to applications "leaking"
resources in the Windows environment. The owners refuse to document that
because it is not considered a "system level" problem.
