You need to hang out with more Slackers, then. We give odd looks to people
that want to use GUIs.

I know it is not the best solution but under SLES you can still use
Yast2 with a light X-environment. Before I ignite another heated
discussion about Yast, let me just say that after 2 years of Linux on
the MF, and knowing how to do my work without Yast, I still use it for
most of my work. I have learned to work around its weak spots so I
hardly ever depend on the command line. Now, we do have another
expert that prefers to work without Yast2 but every so often I catch
him using Yast (not as nice as Yast2 as far as I am concerned).
The other thing I have figure out is that with with perl/apache, I can
do tasks that become regular without even logging on. With ssh/keys
your can propagate changes quickly via perl/apache. We do have a
separation between dev/qa/prod and we stay away from changes to prod
unless something is really bad or we are down. For the last two
years, knock on wood, we have not faced such situation.
