It might be faster to cross-compile the s390x distro on a powerful Intel box, then run it under Hercules for some testing. Of course, things like an OSA and such cannot be tested under Hercules. Oh, don't ask me how to do this. I don't know how to do cross-compiling. Last time I tried, I just got very confused.
Cross-compiling to create the binaries is one thing. Creating the rpms another, and getting it all to work together may be a further challenge; one way to create an rpm is directly from the binaries, using (maybe) the cp command to put things in the right place instead of compiling them, but that doesn't fit well with existing src.rpm packages for <arch>.rpm packages. -- Cheers John -- spambait [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] Please do not reply off-list ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
