What kind of advice? Most of those patches have already been merged into the latest 2.6 tree. For those that aren't, anyone who wants to put in a little effort can forward-port them (or back port them in the case of the 2.4 fixes). It's tedious, but not really hard, per se. For example, Slack/390 has a 2.4.33.3 kernel with all the (known at the time of build) IBM updates for 2.4 incorporated. I'm am by no means a kernel hacker of any kind, but I was able to do it, with some help from the Debian project folks (by looking at their source updates for some particularly nasty issues). Oh, and the Fedora project does have an S390[x] version (at times). Just not in the stable tree. CentOS really is a much better choice for Red Hat users. I get the impression that an openSUSE project would be possible, but would require someone within Novell to drive it. As Adam said, "not it" for me, either.
