I did a quick browse of that manual. What an eye opener. Wish they had bothered to mention these things at some of the many Linux Share sessions I attended in San Diego recently.

For example edit /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 and add a line: OPTIONS='fake_ll=1' I restarted my system and tcpdump now works fine. An alternative/check is to look at: /sys/bus/ccwgroup/drivers/qeth/0.0.0700/fake_ll A value of 0 is off and 1 is on, you cat list the values use cat and set with echo. For all about fake_ll and LLC headers read the IBM Device Drivers PDF: http://download.boulder.ibm.com/ibmdl/pub/software/dw/linux390/docu/l26c dd03.pdf Mark ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
