Does anyone know anything definite on this? You cannot mix IFLs and CPs in a partition, not even in theory. The APAR says that the output of QUERY PROC is *incorrect* when it shows a combination of IFLs and CPs. In a "Linux-only" partition, only z/VM and Linux will run. A Linux-only partition may have CPs XOR IFLs. Not both. And, no, z/OS will not run in a Linux-only partition, even if you define it to contain CPs. In a non-Linux-only partition, the rules change. You can have CPs with zIIPs and zAAPs, ICFs, or IFLs. Pick one. Of course, only z/VM and Linux can run on the IFL. Hope this helps.
