The really clever thing about NPIV is that only the channel, and the
adjacent switch really know about it.  Aside from more WWPNs to manage, it
should be completely transparent to your storage device.  The only NPIV
problem that you might run into with a storage device is that less channel
hardware can now hit the storage device's login limit.  "NPIV may not
work" seems like a poor excuse to me.
