Would it not be much less trouble to change the backup volumes to 3390-9?

Why?. because we have the z/VM and all Linux guests on 3390-3 volumes. And for some reason our previous administrator defined the LVM on a 3390-9, maybe he ran out of 3390-3. Anyway our current backup job using FLASHCOPY does not include mixing device volumes. We do volume dumps using flashcopy and currently are not backing up the LVM volumes - which is at 47gb. My dasd administrator says we can't mix devices with flashcopy. Sincerely, Luis F. La Torre Database Administrator BAX Global Inc. 440 Exchange, Irvine Ca 92602 Phone: 714-442-7441 [EMAIL PROTECTED]
