And for those of you that make the mistake of not doing that, the error you get 
when zipl is run is:
Error: Unsupported SCSI disk layout

Not exactly obvious what the real problem is, but at least now someone 
searching the archives for it might have a chance.  (Recovering from this 
mistake, since it happens in the middle of the initial install, can be a bit of 
an, ummm, adventure shall we say.  It's much easier with z/VM, assuming you 
have available TDISK or VDISK space, than in an LPAR, but still not fun.)
