from Nov 2006, they were about to announce it as GPL2.

They did.  Though is doesn't seem that way from the rest of their site.
Sun's web site is confusing at best about licensing for Java technologies.




There is also the Sun Community Source Licensing (SCSL)

which appears to be what is currently used


Now the open Source Initiative has many licenses that it considers
to be "open source".  You have to submit your license to them for
evaluation.

SCSL is not listed.  The Sun Industry Standards Source License
is listed, as is the Sun Public License.
