DMSREX460E Error 13 running SWPG0803 EXEC, line 3589: Invalid character in

You may have a corrupted file....I would suggest at this point you
attempt to re-download the SWPG0803 file form the Sine Nomine web site.
You can also Xedit the SWPG0802 file (it contains nothing but 'normal'
text characters) and see what's actually on line 3589. That might give
you a hint as to what's wrong here.
The only difference between not specifying " quote site fix 80 " is that
the file becomes a variable file , with 60 blocks when it gets to VM :
Cmd Filename Filetype Fm Format Lrecl Records Blocks Date
Time
SWPG0803 EXEC D1 V 75 3589 60 5/02/08
11:10:27
whereas specifying "quote site fix 80" makes it a fixed blocked file , with
71 blocks
Cmd Filename Filetype Fm Format Lrecl Records Blocks Date
Time
SWPG0803 EXEC D1 F 80 3589 71 5/02/08
9:57:48
Right, that should be the only difference.....I was hoping that MAILABLE
had a requirement that the file be variable format.....I guess not.
Also, being a newbie to VM, I'm not familiar with the MAILABLE extension.
Is it totally self contained, or does it need other utilities for it to
work.
The VM guest that I ftp'd to is a brand new guest, with nothing in it
except for PROFILE.EXEC.
MAILABLE is another method/procedure/technique for sending VM files of
all types (modules, Rexx execs, simple binary data, etc.) over the
Internet and still be able to reconstruct those files on another VM
system with the proper recfm, lrecl, etc. It was invented and developed
by Phil Smith as an alternative to using the VMARC method.
MAILABLE is totally self contained and does not need anything else
(well, except for a Rexx interpreter, of course!:-) to be available in
order for you to extract the file(s) it contains. That is it's chief
advantage over VMARC....in order to extract files from a VMARC archive,
you need the VMARC package itself and some folks don't want to be
hassled by having to download and install another package to get at the
files they've been sent.....
