IIRC, z/Linux does not use wait state codes the way that we are used to
from other System z OSes. You should have seen some sort of message on
the Linux virtual console before the wait state. I wish that IBM could
standardize the wait states because I get my first look at things via
the HMC console, not the Linux virtual console. This means, to me, that
all Linux virtual machines should spool their consoles to somewhere for
review.
