Some things get passed through to the hardware without comment. >From a conversation with the Flex-ES developers a while back, there seems actually a formal test process that POK uses to bless an implementation. The Flex guys paid a lot of money and a lot of lawyers to go through it and license all the necessary patents properly. There's a nice article in zJournal this month by Phil Smith that discusses the emulation scene in a lot of detail.
