We are moving our WebSphere applications from servers and z/Series to z/Linux mainly for cost saving measures. It also allows us to be able to put future applications on z/Linux on a z9 mainframe rather than increasing our server farm.
We are still in the development stage and working out the Linux utilities that we will use. Gene Nelson Federated Insurance Company 121 E. My question is; what are Z/series users using linux for, and what linux utilities are there that are equivalent their Z/os counterparts? Ie, Omegamon = what linux thing Backup and restore = Bacula or Amanda (what are the popular cogs in the z/linux wheel?)
