For Omegamon we use Velocity's ESALPS
For Backup in the Linux filesystem space we use FDR/UpStream
For Backup at the z/VM level we use DF/DSS (from z/OS as we have no tapes
on z/VM)
For provisioning we also use Mainstar's Provisioning Expert for Linux
(PEL)

Z/linux utilities to equivalent Z/os utilities

Linux on 390 Port <[email protected]>

Hi, we are a Z/os shop and are looking at z/linux, but are not to sure
what we can do with Z/linux?

My question is; what are Z/series users using linux for, and what linux
utilities are there that are equivalent their Z/os counterparts?

Ie, Omegamon = what linux thing

Backup and restore = Bacula or Amanda

(what are the popular cogs in the z/linux wheel?)
