Um, yeah.

This is really much easier to do with zLinux than with discrete
versions.  There's been a whole lot done on highly-shared
installations, including things like putting the IPLable kernel in a
shareable saved segment.

No, the Fedora implementation of stateless Linux isn't zSeries, but
it's not like it's either a new idea or a particularly difficult one.
It can be tedious and tricky to get right, but you can realize
significant space and management savings once you've gotten there.
