Ah, googling reveals Tivoli Total Storage Productivity Center (TSPC)  - I knew 
it - you see a T and Tivoli is in there.  But is that the same as TPC?

What I am familiar with is GDPS/XRC.  That depends on the operating system 
including timestamps within each i/o.  Linux does that (and has for a long 
time).

I'll second that. Single-user does not guarantee any on-disk consistency
with what is in memory. If you want to guarantee a consistent image, then
you must take it all the way down *and log off* to force the Linux kernel to
write everything to disk and have a guaranteed clean disk image.

TPC has no way to know what is still pending being flushed, and it cannot
create a consistent image without that knowledge. There is no support for
notifying the disk controllers from VM or Linux of what is still waiting,
and there are no VM or Linux utilities to convey that information.

Requirement time, I'd say. It's long past time that IBM supported all the
