Sigh, just started with planning an IPL to setup the MAC prefix. Ah,
well, I guess a MAC PREFIX wouldn't hurt to begin with.

So then it should be a layer 3? I'm a bit confused here. I had the
impression that layer 2 would set vlan on VM and layer 3 would require
the vlan to be set inside the linuxguest, ie eth0.105. Or do I confuse
this with trunc or access porttype?
The guests indeed run SLES8 but not for long. The customer is planning
to move off this system so they do not invest any time to upgrade to
SLES10.
I do agree that it looks like some routing issue but so far we haven't
been able to find the location of this problem. As for the test, let me
pass these into the group to see if these test have been done and if
not, what the results will be. But for some part it has been done. First
of all because the guest had been logged off but also the NIC has been
detached/defined. Resetting the entire vswitch (or logging off all
guests) will not be all that easy since they have different service
windows.
