Hi Victor - just curious - how many real IFLs are in this LPAR?
You should consider giving each virtual processor a unique CPUID.
You can set a virtual cpuid with the CPU directory statement or the
class G SET CPUID command via the CPU command

Is there a way to check is could be a hardware error? At the VM operator
console, there is no messages regarding the CPU.

AFAIK you can (and should) omit the

vmcp begin cpu 1

And just bring the CPU online in Linux by putting a 1 into

/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online

Good luck!
