Whoever created the Config can run the WWPN Prediction Tool and get you the new
WWPN's in advance.
The tool is on IBM Resource Link and requires information from the
configuration. It's been a while but I think I had to provide the configuration
control number as input to pull the info for a machine that was not installed
yet.
Question:
Where can I get more information on the WWPN prediction tool?
Answer:
For more information on setting up a SAN using the WWPN prediction tool, refer
to the IBM System z
enhancements Hardware Announcement 109-230, dated April 28, 2009.

You should expect that everything that the SAN sees will be different. The
mainframe should see exactly the same things it does now, assuming the SAN
administrator is able to figure out what the new WWPNs for the z114 are going
to be. That would be a tedious job if it weren't a push-pull. Since it is a
push-pull, I'm not sure how they 're going to be able to do it in a reasonable
amount of time.
