SNIA did start a discussion on this, but AFAICT, the project dissolved into a 
lot of internecine sniping between vendors. RFC 3721 provides this service for 
iSCSI, but not for "traditional" FCP.  I suspect the same approach, 
appropriately modified, might work fairly well. 

Another good reason to use iSCSI, IMHO.
