If you are evaluating, you should know you can get SLES11SP2, the latest for Z 
here:  https://www.suse.com/products/server/eval.html

It is a full functioning install and comes with patch support.

Others have already pointed you to what's available.  If you were looking for 
something like the Redbooks that Mike MacIsaac has written, there aren't any.  
He's pretty much stuck with writing about the two distribution providers that 
IBM has contracts with, SUSE and Red Hat.
