So I enabled FTP access to the hmc DVD by giving it the hmc IP address and
also the lpar IP address and they both failed when I tried the to "verify
installation cd-rom/dvd"
under Network Diagnostics and issued message

Insert Installation CD-ROM or DVD
*** No CD-ROM or DVD found.

Shouldn't one of those worked after enabling FTP access?
