I believe the people currently working in this area are looking at
either NE1K/NE2K clones or the WD8003 card, so if you plan on
developing drivers for those cards, I expect you'll be welcomed.

If nobody develops support for it, it won't be, but once again, a
developer with the hardware is likely to be welcomed.
