Well this Voodoo doesn't work for me.
However from my fresh experience I can tell this:
Before I've used 2.2.15pre17 + 3c59x 0.99L - downloaded from
http://cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov/linux/drivers/vortex.html
- as kernel 2.2.15pre17 contains some older version 0.99H
I was able to lock my computer easily just by running ispell over nfs.
Now it looks like I'm unable to crash my Bp6 network connected computer.
(as all my crashes were network related it looks like some
spinlock race in 0.99L is being fixed in 0.99H)
So unhappy users of 3com cards might try to download newer driver
from the author (also it should be probably updated in kernel,
but it probably needs longer observation)
(running BP6, 128MB, G400 (UtahGLX), SBLive & RTLinux2.2, using noapic,
Debian Potato)
