Hello,

After, as a lot of us, trying different versions of Bios & kernel
I thought I had a quite stable system with QQ Bios and 2.3.99pre5.

But yesterday, after 11 days of uptime with various thing including
seti, I had a strange phenomenon : the load was increasing continuously
(When I catched it it was 19, and grew till 32).

I try a lot of things (init 3, kill processes) with no way to go out:
the process management seemed corrupted : I had a lot of sendmail,
pppd running with no reason and a ps auxww didn't give back the hand.

The kill I tried were unsucessful, and even the reboot didn't work,
as the process would not die.

May it's linked to pre5. BTW, I did an Emergency sync and remount ro
and then tried Alt SysrQ L and I had the following message :

NMI Watchdog detected LOCKUP on CPU1

+ a kernel trap (not in /var/log/messages)
CPU: 1
EIP: 0010 [...]
EFLAGS: 00000002
Process init

I'm not sure if it could give hints to some of you.

Greetings,Bruno.
