Well, make was NOT installed on the installations I've seen...it may
have been on one of the Sun package discs; it was too much bother to
check.
So I installed GNU make.
I see on sunfreesoftware.com that they say make is installed with
Solaris 8, perhaps you were thinking of that? I'm talking about
Solaris 2.4 and 2.6.
And I did not "come to believe that GNU *is* UNIX"...I've used Solaris
before I ever even heard of Linux.
Regardless whether it is truly "UNIX" (whatever that means) or *nix,
find / -name make -print still works the same, does it not?

Sure I did! I used "there" instead of "the" and I stuck an extra
"with" in the sentence. Also my sentences are generally way to
very readily digested. While I think my meaning was obvious, I did
screw up, so I won't blame Max for my errors.
You did a good job of clearing things up so that there shouldn't be any
possibility of doubt about what I meant. If I would just remember that
you and Lee are reading Max's stuff I could resist the temptation to post
so much.

And also Sun wants to chisel away at Microsoft's marketshare,
and loosen up the market. What you say makes sense to me also..

Very interesting assertion...yet, the author doesn't provide
any supporting argument.
In case study one, he disputes the methods...claiming that
a mean IQ for 117 vs. a mean IQ of 121 for a group of students
is a "significant" difference.
Sorry, no, 4 IQ points is *NOT* very significant.

...ah yes...the army.
Feynman specifically sandbagged on his army entrance examinations
so that they would not accept him.
Thus, the result is not in the least bit surprising...
