I brought up my new Alpha PC 164-LX Sunday afternoon and recompiled my
kernel to include SCSI tape and my Sound Blaster AWE64. The system
was delivered to me with Red Hat 5.1 installed.
I cp'd the new kernel to /vmlinux.gz and rebooted. Naturally, I have
forgotten a step or ten as the new kernel will not boot. So ...
1. Can I recover without re-installing?
2. What steps are required to install a new kernel?
I have read the documentation I have here and have not found the answer
to item 2.
Sorry for such a dumb stunt!
