startx , open up an xterm and type:
# cd /usr/src/linux
# make xconfig

inside the config, under filesystems, choose your support , its all there TRUST
me.

then save and exit,to build and install your new kernel do as follows:

# make dep ; make clean ; make zImage ; cp /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/zImage
/vmlinuz ; lilo ; shutdown now -r
