You will need the Parport driver wich I beleive is still in the beta stage.
Linux does not support multiple parallel devices without it. You should be able
to find the link to the Parport page from most any distributions page.

What are you using as your filter for the DJ690C+ printer. I have a DJ694C and
am unhappy with the Maigic filters driver.

Subject: Printer and scanner on onre ParPort

Hello fellow Linuxers!

I apologize if this isn't the right place for this question. I don't know a more
suitable list.

I intend to buy a scanner with a parallel port interface but I already have a HP
DJ690C+
printer which needs a bidirectional connection to the host computer) connected
to the only
parallel port on my machine. The reseller told most of these scanner equipped
with an input
and an output port so the printer can be connected to the scanner and the
scanner to the
host computer.

My questions are:
Do anyone have some experienced with this kind of "construction"?
Can this disturb the bidirectional connection to the printer somehow?
What about drivers aso? Do they still work fine?

ANY help will be apreciated.

Thanks
