I once tried to use this chip with xfree86 and did not get very far. I thnk
that sometimes the companies 'like SiS' change a litle something on their chips
I guess they call them "revisions" and there are probably a few similar chips
out there called the same number. Becuase of this I believe that the chip is
not well supported by xfree86. The furthest I ever got with a SiS was the
earlier 5*** series. ANyhow , heres a suggestion. Try to use xfree86's setup
utility for the xconfig. You can download it from www.xfree86.org it's called
XF86Setup. It may also be that Xconfigurator <I hate RH tools> Is to blame. So
I'd suggest trying XF86Setup. I too have one of those SiS chips built ono my
motherboard and tossed it for a FATTY 3dfx card :)
