I know of a utility which comes handy in updating locate database
thats called anacron
Its is for those guys(and gals if any) who do'nt keep there
machines on,on a 24 hour schedule.
I persume that every on knows cron.
In most dists the cron jobs are set to late nights (When i am sleeping)
Now anacron is a chronous cron that meeans it will perform its duty
if the machione wakes up next and it does the house keeping duties.
After using it i knew what are the jobs to be done by cron
cause' they were done for the first time
