On the linux box issue the command "ndc querylog" and check /etc/messages
for the dns query triggering the call.
If you are running samba, you should set a caching nameserver on the linux
box, otherwise the winbug machines will trigger diald each 15 minutes or so.
I got the same problem and solved that way.
